Today as I was catching up some email correspondence. I heard from an old friend and was checking out a ministry he was involved in, and on that website came the familiar verse from John 3:3 where Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again".It seemed to jump out at me and again the urgency of what we are called to do for the kingdom became all so important to me. It also made me think of a young man of 27 that went to be home with his Savior moments after he left the Praise Festival due to a motorcycle accident. He was praising God, with his whole heart, at Jilson Square and continued at the Throne Room of the Almighty Himself.
I want to state again that to promote wholesome Christian entertainment is only part of what The Council for Christian Arts is called to do. It is the promise of salvation, the promise that Jesus died for each and everyone of us. The promise that He loves your neighbors, your friends, your co-workers, and your family members just as much as He loves you. These promises come in the words of the songs that are sung, in the drama skits that are performed, in the testimony, and in the worship of dance. It is on both stages in the Kids Tent and The Prayer Tent. Many of our vendors are bringing Jesus to the forefront in their products and ministry information.
So often get so busy in our everyday lives that we forget the number one job we have to do, and that job is to BE the love of Jesus to everyone we come in contact with. If our mission field is Windham County and the surrounding area we needed to remember what He has called us to be "His Light" to a lost and dying world.
This past Praise Festival was so moving and we know of five that made a life changing Born Again commitments to the Lord, and others that were moved to tears in front of the Alpha Stage, toward the end of our Youth Explosion. All the work the labor is worth one soul and we all know the heavens rejoice when the one which was lost is found.
As we prepare for our next two events "Rockin' the Streets' in Danielson and "SonShine Day" in Putnam, I remembered the words to Steven Curtis Chapman song "We got a trail to blaze....This is the Great Adventure" and when I recently read the statement by Barbara Johnson let us not call what we do (or what we are in) a struggle let us call it an "Adventure". We are in a great adventure a great crusade and that is to bring the Good - Life Changing- Overcoming Power of Jesus Christ to Windham County let us not lose sight of our purposes and our goals in Him and for Him.
God Bless You and keep you may He make his face to shine upon you and give you peace.

Earlier this week, I received a phone call from our Council for Christian Arts Secretary, Doreen Bolduc, telling me that the Billy Graham Association is doing "Rocking the River”. Though it is done on a much larger scale than our local festivals, the power that can fall from the throne room of heaven is still the same. As I was looking at the video and reading the Graham website it was such and encouragement to me: Our evangelism is effective and is worth doing.
Many have said that, statistically, the festival model is not an effective tool for evangelism. But, I have yet to find that statistic. Rather the Lord encourages me with statistics from this international ministry that is now going into the highways and byways to bring the message that "Jesus Saves" using the same program that the Lord gave us so many years ago.
May this year there be a pouring out of His Spirit upon the parks and streets of Windham County and throughout New England as we do what He has called us to do for the call of the Great Commission.

Many thanks to all the wonderful musicians and bell ringers who volunteered with us on December 12th as we joined with the Salvation Army by bringing Christmas Carols to the kettles. The weather was freezing cold, but the atmosphere was warmed by the Spirit. Everyone who participated was blessed!
